The 84th Academy Awards have come and gone and looking back at my predictions…I must say, I was dead on! The only ones I didn’t predict correctly was best adapted screenplay and best supporting actress. I wasn’t right on best director, but I did mention I thought Michel could possibly take home the Oscar.

Thoughts on the evening: I thought Billy Crystal hosted a wonderful show, he was consistently funny and kept the audience interested. I like how they kept things fairly simple and the show had a very classic feel to it. There was some really comic moments, as well, concerning the presenters:

Robert Downey Jr’s little stunt was hilarious, I love how he can always steal the show. Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis playing the cymbals was so silly, but was probably my favorite part of the night. And Emma Stone is just brilliant, I adore her comedy. She never missed a beat.

As far as wins go-

When I heard Woody Allen’s name called for winning best original screenplay, my heart skipped a beat. Literally. Ask my sister, my mouth dropped open and I sat there staring at the screen in awe. It’s always an overwhelming feeling when you’re rooting for someone so much and they win! I was pretty ecstatic. Every other win I pretty much predicted, so there was no surprise there. I definitely need to see The Artist now, the French know how to make good movies, that’s all I’m saying.

The best acceptance speech definitely goes to Christopher Plummer. He is so dapper and flawless. I loved his performance in Beginners.

And best dressed goes to: Michelle Williams, Jessica Chastain and Natalie Portman. All very classy women.
